I've a disco 3 2006, if i lock it after a few days the rear driers side will lower, but if I leave it unlocked it stays up.

anyone know what to check?

I would hazard a guess you have a leak, maybe get some soapy water in a squirty bottle and take a look see.

if it was a leak why does it stay up if its unlocked and only goes down when locked?

Probably as car is unlocked (e the thing is still awake) the suspension system is still live, so as the corner drops the valves operate to self level it.
Iirc there is a fuse in the engine fuse box to kill the system and see what happens overnight, a search should find the fuse number.

Does this happen if the vehicle is parked anywhere, or just at its normal overnight parking place?

The D3 suspension will try to keep the vehicle level, once it's locked. However if the ground is slightly inclined towards one wheel, then it can get quite lopsided after a while, as it tries to compensate.
