Guys, I recently sold my loved (and hated!) P38 after 12 years - and bought an 08 Disco 3. All ok at the moment except the Park distance control which just gives out a continuous bleep when I switch on ignition then doesn't work at all, with the warning light flashing.

Plugged in (£20) by friendly garage (Ultimate 4x4, Netherton , Dudley). who found that the park distance control module was faulty. About £90 to buy from dealer. He told me where it was located, which is behind the plastic side panel inside the boot, near.side, close to the the back of the rear seats. It is apparently simple to change once the side panel is removed. My problem, despite some tugging and prizing I can't find how to remove this side panel. Not sure what holds it in position, is it screws or clips r what? Anyone had this panel off who can offer me any advice?
Be grateful if you could
Thanks Rob

Hi

U need to take out some bolts that are down my the back door and as u look at the side panel there are other bolts , will try and find pics of the full explanation for u

Enclosed some pics for when I was replacing airbags , shows u better of its location or the parking ECU and also the speaker

Plus ensure its the same part number as they changed on some model years according to vin

Also if i May assume you’ve had the front and rear timing belts done inc the oil pump cover

Hope that helps a little bit

Thanks for your help. I found one bolt next to the rear seats by the back door. That loosened that area but can't find bolts by the boot door at the moment so if you were able to find more info would be grateful.

Afraid I don't know what your comment on the seat belts refers to?

Ref the belts , apologises I should have added engines timing belts , as you’ve just bought it always best to check they’ve been done along with the oil pump cover , due at 105,000 miles or 7 x years
