Seems like a daft question but does anyone know whether AMK software will run the Hitachi compressor or does it need to be changed . Stupidly ordered a compressor for my D3 and didn’t think to check whether previous owner had upgraded to AMK which of course they had . I imagine the relay is also going to be different . Any advice welcome ??

I am pretty sure the software is changed when AMK is fitted.

@gstuart would probably know.

send it back for an exchange:)

perhaps @blue beasty will move this thread to proper place too.

hiya

indeed the software needs to be changed and relay along with it

Thank you , yes The car kept dropping and lifting at random moments followed by the “Suspension Fault” warning on the dash . It would do it regularly and then reset. I was waiting for the total failure , as I had with my previous RR Vogue SE which turned out in that case to be a torn bag front near side . With the D3 I’ve ended up with the compressor running on start up very noisily for approx 30 seconds, no lift and the Suspension Failure warning . I’ve taken the awful noise to mean the compressor has had enough. I wasn’t aware of the practice of upgrading to D4 compressors so didn’t think to check which one was under there . I’ve got the repair kit which is required if you have to cut existing pipes but I’m now wondering about the software differences ?

Sorry suspecting something else now?

if you just rebuild/replace existing no lines need cutting or changing

hiya

ur very welcome and plenty here to always help

to be honest that doesn’t sound like a compressor but an electrical one , however if it’s very noisy it could have done damage to it

by u saying it’s dropping , do u mean over night or as ur driving it the suspension raises and lowers

happy to help to see if we can pin it down

have u got a code ready by any chance or able to gain access to one

many thanks guys , sorry if this thread was in the wrong place . Damn newbies

plus 1 what @marjon just said, in the right place now so at least more will see ur question

not wishing to sound rude how much knowledge do u have of the suspension system and how it all works plse, just so nothing comes across like trying to teach u how to suck eggs, lol
