I sorry if this is in the wrong place but I have not got a clue about how to use forums (very dystlexic) anyway I am replacinging cam belt on 200dti and want to use new bolts when I replace the cover and the water pump, local LR will supply but only in bags of ten, I have found a web site (LR Fasteners) but they will only supply bolts if I have the correct part no, I do not really want to buy a parts book for £39 just to get some bolts. any advice please.

I leave the thinking to you guys cos you are so good at it and the information you provide is so helpfull

I'd buy 10 of 'em and buy the damn book, which you're sure to use again. In fact, it would be perfect 'cause then you wouldn't have to deal with us again. Win-win.

what's the big deal - buy ten, sell the ones you don't use on ebay to someone else who doesn't want to buy ten, maybe even cover your purchase costs.

EG buy a bag of ten for ten pounds, use 3, sell the remaining 7 at £1.50 ea, means you recoup you cost, make 50p profit and get your 3 new bolts.

just an example as I don't know how many you need.

why aint you reusing yer old bolts?

if youve bust one take one of the good ones into a shop that sells bolts and get them to match it..... our local highstreet iron mongers will probably have them on the shelf. or places like toolstation or screwfix will sell you a boxfull .
