check you have a oil level/filler in rear case if not you will need to make one

Thanks guys
I have access to two front diffs off a 200 tdi discoverys and thought they would fit the rear of the series as well
also have access to defender 200 tdi ones but thought they looked a bit longer maybe if i got them side by side they would be the same

def or disco is the same diff ,diffs fit front and back

Just to clarify....the will fit into a std series diff with its std diff cover...but unless your diff pan has a oil filler you will have to find another way of getting your oil in.

I welded on in...but you could put a measured amount in the vent plug hole.

With the rear diff I've recently fitted ( 300tdi ) 24 spline and 24 spline shafts both ends which are now wrong as the diff didn't have a level plug on the diff I took advice from here and before I fitted the last shaft I poured in the correct amount of oil 3 pints then fitted the shaft, obviously now I've got to replace the rear diff and shafts for a Def / Disco 10 spline diff and re-use my old shafts hopefully the 10 spline diff should have a level plug but if not I will fill it the same way as I did with the other
