hi all
got a blockage in the cooling system,the top
hose from rad had expanded like a balloon,
when i took coolant cap off & squezzed hose
there seems to be air in the system,whats the
best plan of action please,going on holiday friday
& would like to rectify first.

can you get it sniff tested to check if the head gaskets are ok?

hi mate,good idea thanks, mechanic said same
but on checking rad,hoses & all coolant parts he
was convinced it was an air blockage in the system,
also no gunk in oil filler or oil cap,he cleaned out all
hoses rad n coolant top up tank drove it about a fair
bit & it didnt show any signs of the problem.

Check that the bleed pipe from radiator top on passenger side to the header tank is clear, AND that the steel needle that takes the pipe flow into the tank is also clear.

If run on non-standard OAT coolant you will get corrosion thrown up and blocking the needle.

The other option is the thermostat.

thanks peter got the correct coolant in,also previosly to him
cleaning out the system the feedback needle flowed ok at first
but then slowed to a drizzle,this has now been rectified all seems
well. thermostat is ok. thanks for the reply.
