hi guys rebuilt the v8.
every thing running well, but have coolant in the oil.
bottom end all brand new plus block rings main bearings, but used my old heads.
could the water be coming from a cracked head.
plenty of compression starts first time runs like a dream.
used all new head gaskets timing cover gaskets etc.
reckon i will have to have the heads off again and get them skimmed.
any body had this before, or could i be missing something simple.

many thanks

did you not get the heads skimmed before refitting?
never worth skimping when doing the engine has the block been tested as well?

Have a look at the valley gasket and how you fitted the inlet manifold. That is the most direct route for water to get into the sump.

or warped block warped head very rare for a water leak into the valey from the inlet manifold gasket area and normally that tracks into the closest cylinders and stops it starting! cracked block
