I have just had my 2003 thor engined 4.0L rebuilt at a reputable garage with lots of V8 experience. They refitted my engine, however when they went for the restart all electrics appeared to be fine except that the fuel pump has no power and the coil packs are not producing a spark, hence no start, the crank angle sensor has been checked & is ok. Opinion seems to be imobiliser related but how can this be if the key opens/closes doors and appears to arm the car as the hazards flash etc. I'm at a loss so would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Is there an immobiliser ring around the ignition key? I'm not sure but I think the immobiliser in the key needs to talk to a black ring around the ignition barrel on the Discos.

Does the doors do with the remote or not?
If it does then bcu resync
If not then check the reciver has not flooded due to leaking sunroof had this happen on 4 cars due to the weather recently

Thanks for the suggestions so far. To date she still wont start following a full diagnostic check which reports that everything has sync'd and is functioning as it should. They are now looking to see if its a faulty crank position sensor. Does anyone have any other suggestions please as I'm missing my car.

Turns out it was tested using T4 but only for the imobiliser resync. Anyway, good news is they fitted a new crank position sensor and hey presto, she fired up. Thanks once again to all who offered help and advice, it was much appreciated.
