Hi all, I am after help with finding a replacement 'o' ring (correct size) for the coupling flange between the power steering fluid reservoir (right hand side of the engine bay) & the power steering pump. I would separate it & go to an engineering workshop however as I only have 1 car I cannot take it out & then get to a workshop. So was wondering if anyone knows what size it is?
I have asked at a dealership & they tell me I have to buy a new pump ..... but £150 is a little too much for me to spend on an o ring! lol.

Thanks in advance of your help, steve..

Have a search here, you should hopefully find the part numbers from the drawings.

Thanks for the reply, yes I just hoped someone might know the size so I don't have to strip it down then rebuild it so I can go & buy one then strip & rebuild again lol

Hi Steve, did mine & my son's a couple of weeks ago, here's I think what you're referring to. O-ring is a bit flat probably been there since 01 & 166,000 miles here hee

20x16x2 more than likely taking my rough measurements into account lol.
BTW mine & my son's leaked right besides that O-ring at the gasket where the two halves of the pump bolt together. Fingers crossed your's is just the O-ring. Our pumps were £100 each, not genuine of course.

I did a job in an adhesives factory, and the fitter made up an o ring seal for a mixing vat, to squeeze out Gripfill. It was about 1.5 mtrs wide, by an inch thick. Just cup a length of seal, and superglued it together. Worked a treat

No one seems to have found a part number for the correct O ring. I have used your dimensions and found two O rings which I think match. I have added chemical resistance to the requirements. I think we need Viton or Nitrile O rings. Both have a wide resistance to hydrocarbons. Nitrile is listed as resistance to Auto Transmission Fluid which is a close match to our TD5 Power Steering fluid. Info found here https://plastomatic.com/viton-fluid-resistance-guide.pdf .
This company lists both O rings https://www.bearingboys.co.uk/
16x2mm Viton O rings (Pack 10) BB-44035
16x2mm Nitrile O rings (Pack 10) BB-44233
I welcome any input on this.
