Yep, ACE is superb! Was good for the whole weekend actually, towed a car to the track with it, slept in it, raced it and cruised home wonderfully :)

Errrm, standard Discovery 2, standard wheels, standard tyres, standard brakes, standard suspension and a stage 1 remap?

Oh! Those golfs must have been slow then - no offense meant, but there wasn't much in it!

Unless you're The Stig in disguise!???

Cheers

In fairness to the old girl, she was pulling up to 4000rpm in 4th gear (not sure of the exact speed) in places. Cornering was surprising, tip the nose in, hit the loud pedal and it would just grip! Only on the left corner to go up the hill did it understeer.

It is a long while since I've been in a disco 2, but I'm amazed how well it handled - you seemed to even gain in some corners!

I could search, but what bhp/ftlb's is it now making?

Cheers
Tom

I must admit I'm very impressed as I've done a few track days in old cars but you get credit for taking a real 4x4 around let alone how well you did compared to the other drivers, I drive a disco 2 and never thought that it was possible to corner well at all (may be my lift and tyres to blame thou :),)
Anyway I cannot state how impressed I am.

Ha ha, I'd love to see the look of some of those people when that went past, or even seeing it the rear view mirror.

At least with a 4x4 a small 'off' wont leave you stuck in the gravel trap!

How did the dubbers take to a non vw? Heard at bug jam theyd turn anything over that werent a veedub.

TD5 with a JE Engineering stage 1 remap :)

Maybe 15/20 years ago. I've been into VW's far longer than I have Land Rovers. I take the 101 to three or four shows a year, the dubbers all love it ;)

You might appreciate my 25th Anniversary 1.9tdi with just a remap that makes 190bhp and 320ft/lbs then?

This has to make way for the defender...
