few weeks back what i thought failed was my alternator, usual symptoms battery light on low voltage at battery and it had been doing it on and off for a while so i stuck an alternator on it, when it was originally bringing battery light on it would also disable indicators and heated rear screen and hazards, few weeks after a new alternator its doing the same thing except if i rev over 3 k the light goes out but no charge is reaching battery 11.9v and same symptoms with indicators ect, recently replaced inj loom and cleaned out ecu plug, redone it again today to be sure,
anyone seen similar?

Sounds strange,

So between fitting the new alternator and now it was OK?

working as it should ?

Battery light going out when started.?
Battery charging correctly with the correct voltage?

Cheers

aye it went from having typical alt symptoms to being fine with new one fitted then back to exactly as it was, dont know if ive been unlucky with the new alternator or if its something else lurking with the other symptoms indicators ect

You wouldn't be the first person to have a faulty new alternator. A good alternator/battery set should give a voltage of just over 14 volts just off tickover.
BTW There's no such thing as an "odd" fault on a Disco 2, anything can and often does happen!

Before you put another one there is a maxi fuselink FL1 in the engine bay fusebox, measure on it's both sides with engine running to rule out a bad contact there...if no charging there the alternator is gone
