Hi there we have a disco 2 abroad and have lost the keys so we're looking for a cheap and easy option

Can we change the ignition and bcu to get it running
Or will it need coding to the ecu

May be worth saying where you are, there may be a local D2 owner who can help you out by knowing the best place to get spares.

Found this on ebay,but as it says,it will need coding to the ecu as well.

Hi Hushner
A new set of Locks from Dealership £589.53
Cost of obtaining the Key Code £15.00
Provide proof of ownership - Log Book - copy of Driving Licence
Provided you ARE the owner.
Then they will supply you with the key code for a new set to be cut.
Obviously no good if ignition Barrel Lock & Door Lock have been changed.
