Left aberdeen to Glasgow this morning and cruising all the way down at 60, out of Stirling and the car just lost power, struggling to go up slightly hills in 3rd, when pulling away from junction to service station had smoke come out of exhaust.

Turned on and off the car it seemed to stabilise for a few moments then go rough.

Now parked up trying to look over for anything split or damaged.

Urgent advice needed guys. I have some tools with me that's a bonus.

Just feared to take it back out and die on me

Also since pulling up the car has been fine in idle, were as before it would just go rough after a few seconds.

Some thoughts...

Black smoke? Wouldn't think a dying fuel pump would cause this it would be starved of fuel...

Air starvation, check for splits/delamination in all the turbo/induction hoses.

Check that the air filter hasn't been eaten and blocked up the maf grid.

Then it's a case of all the usual checks, oil in loom, MAP clean, disconnect the MAF to see if performance improves.

Have you tried disconnecting the inlet to the turbo and checking the impeller, it should have some side to side motion but next to no in out. Could be worth firing it up with the hose off very briefly to check that the turbo spools.

I have checked all the hoses on the air side of things and all seem fine no splits.

Found ecu and no oil on the red plug.

Black smoke only when revving highly to move it
