Curtis, you may wish to ask in the Discovery section.

I will ask @blue beasty to move this topic there.

No car is out side my house luckily just really annoying problem... I want out to the cat before and it worked fine then parked back up and now won’t in lock with key I just don’t know what to do to fix it was gonna get a key specialist out other day then started working then back to square 1 now is there anything I can try... I don’t have the EKA ether had a look in the hand book just radio code haha which is no help... how can I get this code and do you have to enter that every time ?? To drive with this issue... it just crazy the car has been fine for years I don’t get it....

landrover will tell you the eka code they have on record. it may or may not be correct.

Id be looking at the key radio receiver box under the headlining. behind the rear sunroof if you have sunroofs :) same place if you don't but harder to get to. check the earth.

What sorry and where is this

The above link will explain a lot of your problem.

The immobiliser is still active if you enter the vehicle with the key as apposed to the fob, it’s a security feature, it prevents someone just copying your key and driving off with your car. You need a diagnostic unit to change this, The settings can be changed to de-immobilise on the key. There are a couple of members near you that show as having diagnostics units that may be willing to do this for you for a small donation. Look at the map under the LandyZone International Rescue forum to find them.

As above, it sounds like you have a fault in/around the receiver module in the vehicle. If you don’t have a rear sunroof then it may well mean removing the full head-lining to access it in the first place.

Locking on the key means that only part of the security system is armed. Only locking on the fob activates the full security such as full dead-lock (you can’t smash a window then open a door) and I believe the ultrasonic alarm is not armed on the key either from memory. Useful if leaving a gig in the car as the alarm won’t go off but also the alarm won’t go off if someone reaches into the car/smashes a window either....

I went to a dealer last week and got the EKA and radio code FOC. Was a bit of hard work with the guy on the service counter but got there in the end.

Charge the battery.. Happened to me a while back, I hadn't used car much , when I recharged the battery all was fine.
