Hi
My disco td5 keeps blowing the 30amp fuse even before i push the switch... ive checked to make sure theres no chafing round the back door but cant find any... ive disconnected the wiring to the element but the fuse keeps blowing.. electrics arent my strong point can anyone point me in a direction as to what to check next please ?

Hi, this thing needs a basic knowledge of electrotechnics as to be able to understand a diagram otherwise it's hard. You have to unpin the circuit in C0485/0480 pin 18 (brown/purple wire) and see if the fuse blows then, if yes the probem is probably in the fusebox which used to suffer from corrosion, if it was water ingress it's possible to be corrosion in that header too, if it doesnt blow with the circuit interrupted there the problem is beyond toward the rear

Ah sierrafery i was hoping you would see this ... you correctly diagnosed my last issue :)
Where will i find CO480 please buddy ? you may also have hit on something with the fuse box though as there was a leak above it last year although there doesnt seam to be any corrosion but may be worth getting another fuse box
 
Ah sorry just read reply properly... connector at A post ... :) will check thanks... the header is that one of the ones in the passenger foot well ?
