Hello all, some help required.

I can't get the backs of the 3rd row seats into the upright position. The manual says that they'll only work if the base is fully locked into place, which it appears to be but still no luck, any ideas? Is this a common problem.

I'm back into Land Rovers after a couple of years away and don't want to lose the faith already!!

Yes its a common problem if they're not used enough.

They feel like they're latched down but they're not, arm yourself with a tin of wd40 and a torch, the problem lies in the catch nearer the interior pannel, not the one you can see. basically you have to spray the latch and work it back and forth till its free. it's quite difficult to see but if you fold the seat out but dont latch it down, then tip it back up but keep it folded out if you see what i mean, you can then get under it to spray the offending latch, work it back and forth by twisting the release handle and then manually pushing the latch back.

Difficult to explain but one you get under there and have a good look around, you'll hopfully see what i mean.

Many thanks

I'll have a look and keep you posted. It does seem that the inner lock(when folded away, the top hinge) doesn't latch in place when attempting to use the seats.

I have to give mine quite a forceful 'clunk' into the floor (ie: Actually give 'em a shove, not just let them drop under their own weight) for them to lock in and therefore release the backs. If you just let them drop, they do click, and you think they're in (you would still need to twist the black bars to get em back up) but they're not in "enough" to allow the backs to rise.

I hope that makes sense

I coated everything in WD40, moved everything back, forward and back again. still not working. The outer hinge (next to the cup holder) just doesn't want to lock.
