Hi

I have a problem with my Discovery 2 300tdi it's a P reg (I think it's a 2!)
It's an ES.
I have an intermittent problem where the car will not rev past 2k rpm with foot to floor and black smoke out the back.

Engine idles fine. Replaced Fuel and air filters. Emptied the sedimeter - no difference.

Strange thing is if i open the fuel line access panel and remove the fuel line flow going to the fuel pump and suck on the pipe and then put it back on it cures the problem for a while. Shall I just run new fuel lines in or could the air be getting in somewhere else?

Any help appreciated!
:)

had the same with a 300tdi disco belive it or not it was one of the glowplugs wer snapped check them

mine did that a while back , it was the gauze filter in top of lift pump
when you say you emptied sedimenter did you just remove the bung or strip the bowl off and clean it out

I emptied the sedimenter, cracked it open and completely cleaned it.
I checked the turbo hoses and they look OK to?
I tried to bleed it this morning but ended up getting a flat battery as there was loads of air in the line again so not getting as far as plugs or the lift pump I don't think.
I bought some gear to swap the lines so will give it a go.
Thanks to those who posted useful comments. Much appreciated.
