That's kinda what I was thinking, fancied a change and had a drive of a mates 300 a while back and it felt a bit nicer to drive than my old beast.

Don't give up looking, I have just bought a 1999 TD5 ES for £3,000. I think it was cheap it has everything and it all works - loads of MOT and nearly full stamped history. Bit of a dodgy dealer type but patience, perseverance and a pocket full of cash usually works in the end.
If ebay asking prices are to be beleived it is worth about four grand but real world - I think three was fair.
