Went to help another lzer and mines just boiled over on route. I am still on the tarmac just outside llanllwni

After its little hickup let it cool down, put a whole 7 pints of water in the radiator and its been fine for about 50 odd miles since and 3 or 4 hours running. No loss of coolant whatsoever in that time either.

This cars just weird!

could be rad full of mud and working it hard

over the years you learn little tricks with cars, one was, if the coolent wants to leak under pressure, then back of your rad cap, or expansion bottle cap a little to let out some pressure, and see if it makes the leak a bit better.
if it wants to boil up, then theres something wrong altogether...

All was going so well and now I'm sitting at the side of the road with another boiRedl over. Once again temp gauge didn't rise. I think I've found the culprit though my radiator is badly damaged and has a lot of missing fins.

She might drive home but not without the heater on full blast oh and I'm towing. Could seone possibly get to me with a disco 300 300tdi radiator. I'm on the main a487 just outside synod inn between aberaeron and cardigan.

paul, sorry cant help here, but would it help you to lift the bonnet up slightly to allow airflow over the engine also in cooling it down a bit more..
I had to do this trick way back in the hot summer in the 70`s I think it was.
rested the bonnet on a valve spring (anything would do)
but tied it down leaving a 3 inch or more gap between slam panel and partially open bonnet.

PM me yo Number.

Do yu have recovery?

Got the rad filled up so going to continue into town. Hopefully having the heater on will make a difference. Will recover home if I have to.

spoken to him might have another rad sorted once they check if the fins are ok. Gonna limp 5 miles get trailer loaded then call recovery

Tbh I'm not sure it sounds like a poorly performing rad though it can heat up dramatically towing if worked hard. Might be an idea to swap the trailer onto another vehicle if Yellow or someone is available.

Ironic choice of signature perhaps -
"A land rover is required to rescue your classic car when it breaks down. So what do you rescue the land rover with?"

hope you get sorted mate..
