Ive had this thing for a over a year & its a kick in the balls at every turn:rolleyes:
Mechanical wise everything is new but it was fitted just to sell it & it was a non runner.
The body work from the last owner is the worst ive seen.
He filled in the line along the rear quarters doors & wings with cataloy smoothed the line down the rear
quarters & bonded the extended arches to the body work & it was cracking so I set about taking it all
out (not quite there yet) & I bought a donor D1 for parts,I decided to sand down the roof as I was going to re-paint the whole motor.
I noticed blisters in the paint before I started so decided to get a hammer n chisel into it as you do :D
I did know the sunroofs had been blanked off but ffs a piece of metal has been tacked in & the gaps filled in with filler now if had enough ive lost interest in it & I do not have the time to spare on it I could have
had it rubbed down this week & painted for next :(

Its got loads of nice bits though :D

I take it:

Count to 10 (maybe 20)
And stick with it may help???

Nope tried that it would be so bad but I need to strip all this gear off the roof :(
Im only working on it a couple of hours a night & this will take me a while to repair plus I need the space in the unit .

Looks like a **** of job Kev.

But it's a D1 so worth it!

Are you gonna return it to stock?

No chance it will be stock ever again its a mare of a job & I don't have the time to spend on it its took the wind out my sails.

Looks mint mate, stop whining and get on with it already, I'd kill to have that kind of work space to play away in, would have had mine done by now if I did.

I cant keep it inside for much longer so it will be getting evicted as ive got paying jobs coming in & then the winter
is round the corner so it wont be getting anything done if its outside I wanted it finished this year :(

part it out don't get emotional and move on

Im not to fussed about it now ive slept on it as I have another 2 landys although the amount of hours ive spent on it has been a waste of time. That's what's annoying but on the plus side I have a load of really nice bits :D
I was going to break it at the start of the year I should have followed my gut feeling lol
This might turn into a parts thread.

Such a shame. If it had been a steel body, all over, a magnet would have warned you about all the carp you have found, or would it?

The thing is the body was removed by the previous owner & all welded ect I knew the sunroofs had been filled I assumed no-ones that thick to remove the body & not do it properly  It had a full length roof rack on it so & it was very hard
to check without removing it. I was prepared to give it a paint job but once I started stripping it I realised how sh!te the
body was. I don't think a magnet would have stuck to it even if it was steel lol
