Hello there......:)

Does anyone know how to disable the passenger airbag, so that it does not through up a fault code and Airbag light on the dash?

I was thinking a resistor on the plug end to fool the ecu to think theres an airbag connected?....would this work and if so what value resistor should I use?

If I did disconnect it and switched on ignition.....If I reconected it again would the dash light go out?......or is this a job for a scanner which I dont have...:scratching_chin:

Will it blow up in my face if im not gentle with it?:whoosh:

Cheers!

You need to change Airbag ECU for 1 bag version - i'm not sure that you can re program it to one bag (some basic setups have only drivers airbag) then you can put a handle and another glovebox on dash instead of passenger airbag.

Why do you want to disable saftey feature?

There are many bypass resistors on ebay, if right resistance then light will go out.
Better still config so it knows airbag not there

Baby will be sitting there, not sure if hes comfy with it or not??? Im certainly not:eek:

If I remove and replace with a Glove box will this affect a UK MOT at all?

I see ebay is flooded with low ohm srs disabling resistors :) Not found right spec for a Freelander 1 though?

Will the airbag detonate if I measure the resistance on it with a digital fluke meter?

DO NOT do a resistance check across an airbag module!!!

You'll hear a little pop and a white bag appears in a cloud of white dust :)
