I'm just about to replace the broken front bumper on my 1999 D2 with a steel one that doesn't have a place to mount the headlamp washers. I'm not too fussed about having washers and I only have standard halogen bulbs so there's no effect on the MOT.

Can someone please tell me how I can disable the headlamp washer so that I don't have a loose pipe spraying out fluid?

Remove the electrical connection from the pump...Simples :)

While you've got the bumper off you might want to cut and plug the pipes from the pump, just in case of the possibility of syphoning.
The pump is fitted directly to the washer reservoir iirc. You won't be able to remove it without leaving a hole in the bottle.

Thanks for the advice all. I have taken the bumper off today and can now see what I am dealing with. I will disconnect the power to the headlamp washer and double the pipe over plus cable tie it as well as stashing it higher than the pump. Should do the trick nicely.

Now just need to wait for my new bumper to arrive so that I can put it back together.
