Hi all Come across a little issue today with my freelander
When doing 70 mph in 5th it seems to dip in power if in 4th can get over 70 mph there is no black smoke or anything.
I have changed the airfilter and crank case filter and freed up the turbo actuator which as improve pick up better than before.
Is the lose of power because of the egr and should just blank it off or is it cause the hoses are calapsing and should be replaced?
Cheers
Mitch

The first thing to do is clean the MAP sensor of gunge, left hand side of manifold. This is the part that usually causes this issue.

Being really think now MAP sensor ? Is this the little thing that in between the two hoses ? And how do you clean it ?

As you look from the front. It's on the left of the plastic manifold, not the bit between the two hoses. It's about an inch long, held on with one or two bolts. Usually easier to take the manifold off. Wipe it down or spray with carb cleaner. Don't stick anything down the small hole.

Update gents.
Thank you for the advice I've clean the map sensor and also debunked the EGR valve and the result is it now goes like a stabbed rat can believe the improvement not that it was sluggish to begin with but thank you all for the advice.

I used carb cleaner to remove the grid then rag and tooth brush so I get it all back out of it. Still getting a dip but it's at 85mph now and think this is to do with the hoses collapsing as they are very soft so getting new ones ordered see if that sorts the problem but. Cleaning has made massive improvement so I'm very happy with it
