hi could any body de code this reading off a diognostic machine( ic pressure regulator monitoring ( short circuit to ground or over current) this is regarding m and s warning lights and being stuck in limp home mode thanks for any help regards arv

Looks like P0748 which can be the pressure regulator solenoid valve (MV4) itself at fault(nr.2 in the pic) or a wiring issue to it, it's changeable without removing the whole gearbox, only the valve block but would be good to check the circuit to it first with multimeter... if you have RAVE and you are handy with electrics i'll tell you more

thanks for your help , im just a thick plasterer but ive got a clever mate , if you could explain the procedure it would be a great help regards arv

You have to unplug connector C0243 and use a multimeter set on resistance to measure across the male pins(side of loom which goes to the solenoids) which are connected to terminals L - H of C0243(attached)... if the solenoid is OK you should get very close to 5.5 Ohm, if this is OK unplug the gearbox ECU under the LH seat and measure resistance across terminals L - H of C0243, if you get any resistance the loom is chaffed.... if you get open circuit put a bridge between L - H and measure at ECU connector(C0193) across pins 5 - 53 it should be closed circuit this way, if it's open or some resistance the loom is chaffed.

if your mate is clever he should understand cos it's well explained this way IMO . concentrate to make EXACTLY how i said and not mix pins if you want relevant results

thanks for that at least we have not got to strip the gearbox we can go down the wiring route thanks again regards arv
