After i had been off roading last weekend i noticed my difflock light stayed on even though it was'nt selected. Its not the sensor for the light i dont think as the diff lock is still in. I have checked the linkage and its still attached and seems to move alright but i am stuck with what to do now?

Have you tried reversing a little?

I have only reversed a short distance (two car lengths) would this be enough?

Try a bit further. Like 100 yards. I had a disco once that wouldn't come out of diff lock unless I did a back and forth thing about three times for 50-100 yards. Right fookin pain it was.

My lovely lass bought me a day trip on one of the Land rover Experiences - even on the newest defenders they have these problems - times we sat in the car park reversing until light went out!!

Also, driving forwards with the steering on full lock can help.
