I'm sure they're great but they're more expensive. To make it cost effective, I'd need to "stretch" the service interval on the transmission to 3 or 4 years. Frequent changes with cheaper oil makes more sense to me (easy to DIY, etc).

Any one used difflock oils in there transfer box if so any good :)

A few years ago I put Difflock oils in the gear and tranny boxes and both diffs of my wife's TDi 200 - did it make any difference? You bet it did, better smoothness, quietness, freer running better mpg etc etc.

Expensive - yes

Good? - definitely yes.

However, I've just found my local Carrefour does EP75w-90 fully synth for 8euros a ltr so I've put it in the tranny box and axles.

Time will tell...........................................

I changed my old oil for fresh (non-difflock) oil and it made a difference too - better smoothness, quietness, freer running etc. Have you compared new difflock oil with new regular oil? Is anyone's difflock stuff still good 3½ years in?

The quality of oil already in the TDi was new and good, before I put the Difflock stuff in there.
