Thanks guys for the explanations.Here in Aus we have the same coloured plate front and rear. I can see how the different colours work now. Cheers to all!!!!

When I was in WA I had black on blue personal plates on my 110 , here in UK you cant have personal plates so there is a market in certain natural combinations that spell something eg COM 1 C some get a bit strained

No plate illumination is supposed to be no more than 5w if I remember.

Illuminated headboards on truck cabs are sometimes illegal because they show red lighting to the front if the background is red.

Once got warned in the seventies for showing red (bright orange actually) to front via illuminated truck headboard

A lot of trucks are illegal, I see loads every day that shouldn't have the amount of colours they do but they all seem to get away with it...

I like UK plates better than countries where there is no order to them, least we can see how old a car is straight away, never understood why other countries aren't the same...

Because who the hell cares?

Can anybody explain the merit of this number/age thing to me, because I've toyed around with it in my head and I'm sure that it's stupid.
