hi all i know your all probably thinking oh know not another one of those threads but ive tried searching and searchin to find out the answer to my query.
I bought a 98 r reg freelander a couple of weeks ago, put it in for a mot, ABS light didnt show up, took dash out TC-ABC-HDC lights all missing, bought some bulbs re installed them all stay lit up when running.
Checked on the net realsied that it could be a brake light switch so ordered one of the net. Now this is where my problem starts, my brake light switch has 2 spade connectors onit, i ordered the new brake light switch which beacuse theyve changed them now comes with a wiring harness, got the switch and harness, my 2 plugs wont fit into the new wiring harness plus wont fit in the new harness and the brake light switch doesnt seem to fit in the existing hole.

my old brake light switch on the left and new one on the right.

Can anyone help

yep, looks like it's for a different model. try taking it to a motor factors and getting one there. have you tested the switch to see if it's working ok?

The switch on the left is the factory original, The switch on the right is the genuine LR heavy duty replacement for the crap original.
You just need to get a short connector wire that converts from one plug type to the other.

LXKB500120 Switch Assembly @ £7.76
LYMQ503280 Wire Assembly @ £9.45

These are the new part numbers and recent prices for the genuine LR replacement switch and wire.
