Hi
Can anyone explain in basic terms what the difference is between a standard wide angle and a double cardan propshaft please?
I have a 2" lift and was wondering what would be best to have fitted on the 90. Would standard UJs fit all?
All reasonable comments welcomed:)
i know what some of you guys are like:p
Cheers
Kev

PS search done but not the info i'm after:doh:

wide angle uj has yokes cut away compared to std to allow greater angle with out yokes touching doesnt stop vibration or stress of uj in high articulted situations but means you can transmit drive with out joint jamming doudle cardon has two ujs back to back so articulation is split between 2 and angle on each isnt so severe for given angle as std uj douldle cardon would be best if not allways necessary you need to fit larger front t/box from disco 2 or military def to fit prop

I don't think ( at the moment ) the use that is planned for the 90 that i could justify paying double cardon prices plus having to transfer box etc!!
Sounds like wide angle PS will be the way forward at the minute.
Thanks for the explanation, much appreciated.

Thanks Pat

Did you notice any benefit to going to double cardon PS other than more obvious range of movement? I am not planning to do extreme offroad for some time, if at all with this one, so a wide angle PS would probably suffice unless Dbl Cs benifit in other ways in long term.

Also don't really want to get into the slippery slope of changing one item but having to change loads of other stuff just to do it without major reason.!!

aren't some double cardan props supplied with output flanges so you just change the flange and seals rather than tranfer box/ drive couplings???
