I had a series 3200tdi for my first car was ace me and my mates have and do have loads of fun great for camping and off roading I use it for work and still have more fun than others ushould get one there good!!

I'm 18 with a 90 TD5 that is classed as a light goods vehicle with the NFU for 3500. Mine was a van but got converted by the previous owner. Its still classed as an LGV so maybe thats something you could do. Having windows in the back is pretty helpful

Where did you get the 1 k quote my lad is 17 and getting quotes of 3k for our 90 "van"

when i was 17 / 18 my insurance for def 90 300 tdi was 1300 fully comp through Bell

they still give me the cheapest quote now

That also included some mods !!

Did you phone them mate or was it online, online Aviva wont quote my son ,still cant get it better than 2800!!

i used money supermarket for initial quote then phoned to complete / check mod details etc.

i was limited to 5000 miles no courtesy car. but kept legal and medical cover.

i still cant get better than £5900. (finding it strange how fully comp is about half the price of third party only on every site ive used so far)

also, it gets cheaper as you go up in value from £1000 to £4000 then at 5000 it starts going up in price again

mine was valued at 5500 what i paid for it at the time.

they probably think if you paid more for the landy and want fully comp you will drive better then a boy racer in a banger. insurance is a pain though i was also only insured for social use

yea, just as long as I dont fall down a ditch into a tree or get myself into a situation when i need to use someone else's winch im fine :crazy_driver: I did once manage to get a 110 stuck on top of a concrete tank trap when I was 12, now that was interesting. (i lived on a farm in south africa, i was driving long before i could reach the pedals...the secret is wooden blocks and duct tape ;) )

I did it online, Defender 90 2.5td classed as van, then light utilty in the other drop down menu, under 10,000 miles, with my mom and dad on as additional drivers, got that for just over a grand
