Hi new to posting so excuse my ignorance. Right my problem is that recently the Diff switch light in the dash has been staying on, I've tried lifting one of the front wheels up to release any tension that's built up. So in my wisdom I've replaced the switch on the t'box, problem is now that the dashboard light illuminates now when the Diff is disengaged and is NOT illuminated when the Diff is engaged . Theres only two terminals on the switch and I believe that the wires going to the switch can connect to either terminal, however if I put a spanner on the switch to adjust, the switch works correctly. Is this an earth issue? Should there be an earth connected? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Are you sure you have got the correct replacement switch, I imagine it should be a 'normally open' one but it sounds like you may have a 'normally closed' one instead (basically reverse operation)?

Never thought of that, but just checked and that's the part number I have. So that eliminates that, thanks Kwakerman.

If you have the correct switch then you may have it screwed in too far. To set it up you need to engage diff lock, screw the switch in until the contacts just close (diff light comes on or test meter beeps), turn it in an additional 1/2 turn then tighten the locknut.

That's pretty much how I done it, but I'll have another go tomorrow. I sure I done that then it all went pear shape again!

Got it sorted no Kwakerman. The switch was ok and the setup was fine, however the new switch was missing the adjustment bolt (so used the one of the old switch). The problem was a bad earth for some reason, so what I done was simpoly used a length of 2.5mm2 household flex wore and made a circle loop with the wire and soldered the ends round to allow me to put them over the bolts. I then put it on the switch and screwed it to depth and the other end I took off one of the t'box bolts and put it on there, works perfect no. Thanks:)
