not sure if its meant to do this, was trying to pull a car out today was pretty slippy, put in in 4w low locked but both n/s wheels were slipping and o/s was not moving!!is there a problem or is there something that can be adj,or is this normal on a 300 tdi auto..
thanks ahead for any info

was defo in diff lock the lever was over to the left light was on dash tried in low range and high range

This is the tfourth time this week

The best way to check if it is indeed in Diff Lock would be to park up on a flat surface, chock the wheels, take yr handbrake off and take the car out of gear, lift one wheel off the ground.
If ya can spin tha wheel round yr not in Diff lock, Simples :D

So who is going to say 'SEARCH' :D

Flat ground, hand brake off, in neutral, jack up one wheel.

It should turn ok

Engage difflock

Now no turny

:)

i know its not working cause on side was spinning and the other side wasnt moving,it was fully engaged via the lever, this is why i asked if it can be adj in someway, and yep i done a search..

Iss ok Bromsgrove he possibly means he is going to check the linkage for the levers, otherwise he is gonna be **** wet looking for a diff adjuster....why does long stand and tartan paint come to mind???

if you do a search for diff lock adjuster on here you will find what i found.
if this aint correct then i would thank you for letting me know would save me a bit of ferkin about, that is basically why i asked in the first place, never really asked for all the wise crack comments, the only thing they do is lower the tone of a very helpfull forum..
