finally got round to digging into my diff selector issues, as suspected the linkage is not engaging on the transfer box and everything is a little seized up, i watched one of Britannica's videos on setting these up and he kept referring to a bush that sits on the arm you adjust for setting it all up, but for the life of me i cant seem to find a part number for it, and it got me thinking is there any service kits for these linkages or whilst all the floor and tunnel is up are there any parts i should be replacing on the diff or high low selectors.( which does work relatively well)

or does anyone have a part number for this bush?

When you find that bush… you should order the spring clip
Off to look for some part numbers.
(Everything else should not wear out)

You remove the clip & Clevis pin & the plastic parts are in either side of the long metal selector arm
So there is no bush we’re the pin sits in the eye of the adjustment pin/rod? The one with the locking nut that screws in and out.

been fiddling around with the adjustment on the diff selector all afternoon, and there seems to be way to much play in the adjustment pin. when you move the diff gear lever it just moves around on the adjustment pin but no movement at the bottom where it attaches to the transfer case. i have taken a picture of the whole on the adjustment pin it looks too big but then surely it wouldn't get enough use to wear? or perhaps an earlier owner bored it out for some reason???

Was there any plastic washers each side to take up the slack?
Yes there was one on the selector arm side, but there is a hell of a lot of play on it, have ordered FAC8202P to replace the eye pin lever (not sure that’s the correct name) and new plastic bushes, the high low selector was sitting out slightly which I wondered if it was affecting the diff lick side. But I got it seated properly and it didn’t seem to have been an issue.

Bit of an update
Ordered new plastic bushes for the pivot pin, looks like it only had one on which was causing the slack, have it all adjusted and seems to be working reasonably well, will have to keep using it to make sure it doesn’t seize up.
