Go buy a petrol Classic and keep the diesel. Sorry I every gave mine to my son, previous owner George Harrison. Toured France, Andorra and Spain with the tin tent, 14.9 to the gallon and it pulled like a train. If I didn't have so many project's on the go at the mo I would be asking HOW MUCH?

Probably easier to buy a petrol RRC. Reasonable amount of work to swap in a petrol and likely quite a few parts. The 2.5 VM is a nice motor too. And quite rare.

The current London Taxi, the TX4, is fitted with a VM engine but I don't know what size although through the years the taxis have had a lot of 2.2s and 2.5s.

So was the Jeep (wash my mouth out), but it had one cylinder head unlike the R/R which had 4.

I bought some work socks with the J**p logo. They weren't very comfortable, left fluff between me toes - and the heels wore out!!:D

Some of the J**ps had the same 4 separate head engine, I think the later ones had the single head engine.
Have you seen the price on just one of those heads

Never bothered, cooked it in France coming back from Spain. Plague of moths and butterflies blocked the radiator but it still got us back home. I stripped it to find four cracked heads and picked up on one cylinder so I put another engine in.

Land rover monthly july have a bit on the VM diesel in a late 2 door with wheel on wrong side.
Quiet engine in diesel terms, indirect means crack is not so loud as the 200tdi.
My 300tdi is loud with acoustic cover( big rubber thing) removed, does the 200tdi have an aftermarket one or does the 300tdi one fit and does it soften the noise.
Well worth a read.
