As far as I know theyre all bels after the 10j 2.5 na was discontinued.12j I have worked on are belt and all after that Ive seen.In my 2.5TD owners book it says 48000 miles but Iwould be cautious and change at25000.Ive read that they are weakened by oil contamination.Its sure abitch when they break!:doh:as far as i am aware all tdi engines had belt driven cams and injection pumps apart from those that have been converted to run gear driven set-ups
timing belts can let go at any time if they are old not sure about the belt life on a tdi but normally on cars its around 70,000 miles but i know of a few that run as low as 36,000miles and some that are higher

took head off
4 bent push rods
1 broken rocker
and lots and lots of swearing lol
so the to get list is
new rocker
new push rods
head gasket
manifold gasket
rocker cover gasket
timing belt n gaskets
few nuts n circlips
more swearing
is there anything else i need ????
Not wishing todepress you further but if one of your rockers is broken a vlve must have hit apistn pretty hard.The others could be fine.Best of luck-they seemed ok m8 but it was getting dark lol
prob should add them to the costs just to b on the safe side

yep it was the timing belt snaped m8 !!! took it all apart now just trying to remember how it all goes back :doh:
