Couldn't see anything in the cabin. I replaced the heater matrix about 3 years ago.
Now I think about it, most parts have been replaced at one time or another...

What about pressurising the header tank with a modified bottle top?
At 10 miles a litre it has to be quite obvious if you look in the right place; drop the exhaust manifold off

Exactly, plus with the manifold removed a crack into the exhaust port or around the seats should be fairly obvious if the system is pressurised.
Many years ago I had a proper testing kit with various radiator caps and a balloon like hand pump.
Go steady on the pressure and don't exceed the cap rating to avoid damage.
Should be available in a decent autoparts place ... or B&Q on-line
