Had look at mine but can’t tell as is black sheath on it. Don’t really fancy pulling at it
Nothing to do with fuel it is for timing correction purposes.Yeah I need to check if they are wrong way round. Only plays up when I change up a gear I suppose if sensor or wiring is wrong will not send enough fuel. If wiring is correct then sensor must be knakered. I need to swap the crimps for solder joints
Don't mate wiring so brittleHad look at mine but can’t tell as is black sheath on it. Don’t really fancy pulling at it
You'll go blind durty boy.Had look at mine but can’t tell as is black sheath on it. Don’t really fancy pulling at it
Try soldering the wires and swap round if still wrong. I don't have details of exactly how the sensor is constructed, but it's just possible that with the connection reversed the timing would shift.Yeah I need to check if they are wrong way round. Morning Tony, would it be worth his while to connect the wires one way then reverse them, before soldering as the injector is still in place, to see if it makes any difference.?I have no idea if the circuit direction is critical or not. But pin 1 on the sensor socket is listed as signal and pin 2 is listed as ground. Pin 1 listed as signal on both socket and ECU goes to pin 5 on ECU and pin 2 listed as ground on both socket and ECU goes to pin12 on ECU. So it appears there is a definite circuit direction. That circuit direction may apply to the sensor for correct operation i do not know but it is worth trying. One thing worth remembering about electrics is if you have to repair a connection ALWAYS reconnect the same wires parted back together. As said i don't have a clue if it matters in this case but worth a try. Good luck.

Just had a look at my old one, both wires are or were whiteThanks guys. I will take the injector out the weekend and have a proper look and make sure was repaired correct way round, if not repair and solder and take it for a drive see if fault comes up.

Too true mate, that's the one that failed when,as you keep reminding everybody, I cleaned the diesel spill off the engine, NOT WITH A POWER WASH!!.When I cut back the "repair" it looks like its been trapped between the inlet manifold and the head. I'll have a go at soldering in a new section of wires, may come in handy.Good to see I am not the only one with a shed full of broken sh*t.
Hi mate, on your injector can you check please if your pin 1 wire goes into the LHS of the centre and pin 2 goes into the RHS of the sensor just so I can check if I wired incorrectly?Too true mate, that's the one that failed when,as you keep reminding everybody, I cleaned the diesel spill off the engine, NOT WITH A POWER WASH!!.When I cut back the "repair" it looks like its been trapped between the inlet manifold and the head. Thanks mate.I'll go check.
No numbers on the connector that I have, but if you look at the 2 photo's, the right hand wire on the injector goes to the pin adjacent to the raised keyway. Thanks mate.
Thank you only difference is the plug on mine has the key way in the middle of the plug. Is your one from a later year?No numbers on the connector that I have, but if you look at the 2 photo's, the right hand wire on the injector goes to the pin adjacent to the raised keyway.View attachment 213757 View attachment 213758
Both early plug and later plug are same pin configuration.Thank you only difference is the plug on mine has the key way in the middle of the plug. Is your one from a later year?
