Hi all,
Had a look at my old in tank pump (VDO).
It's the electric pump part I'm referring and marked BMW too and the part no
16.14 -1 182 078
02/96 * 750 026

Google search got this no from BMW 525TDS ;
16 141 182 078
On fleabay it's available @ 25 GBP.
I guess replacing the pump only is cheaper compared to the whole thing with postage.

Probably. Just replaced the whole assembly on mine. Not sure how easy it is to get apart. Part number for the whole assembly is:
ESR1111G

Correct Grrrr.
I was just mentioning the electrical pump only. Generally, when the pump packup, other non electric parts are ok
and reusable.

The diesel lift pump comes as a complete unit no separate parts are available. The petrol lift pump has a fuel gauge sender that can be changed and is or was at sometime supplied as a separate spare item.
