I've got a santana sitting on the driver and next to it an LT77 box with LT230 T/b on it. The T/b will go on the santana and at a quick glance the bell housings look interchangeable between the two. As the LT77 is also used on the V8 then i would say that the bell housing must be interchangeable.
Don't know if anyone knows any better on here but i may be able to whip the bell housings off and try swap them if you wish?

Thanks mate, I'm going to swap the transfer boxes over to try and cure the slop in the transmission, the 'new' box has far less play in it than mine.
Started today and took all the bolts out, removed the diff lock levers etc and took end plate off so should be ready to lift off the box tomorrow with a hoist.
It's also one box higher than mine so I won't be driving round town in 5th at 25 mph

I'm also interested to know if a Rover V8 (3500 with SU's in my case) is a bolt-on to the LT77 - which clutch and flywheel combination would be best to use?
