hi guys,
a while back i cut out my dpf on my p38 and replaced it with a flexi section. its now split so im going to fit a rigid section, also thinking of doing the same to the middle silencer as a few people have said its worthwhile, does anybody sell straight pipe sections i can just bolt in or do i have to do it from scratch?

You can get the straight through center box kit off that there Flebay bout £35 mate looked at this myself.
 
i have just removed the straight threw pipe again and refitted the standard box and thats hows its going to stay its far to loud in cabin at almost any speed motor speed is awful.so i now have for sale a stainless straight threw pipe lol cost £99 will take £50 lol
 
ive been told there is an improvement to fuel economy but that doesnt really concern me. Apparently you also get a bit more poke which would be nice. the main reason it i just like the idea of giving it ago, ive looked on ebay and theyve got the stainless ones for about £100, its a shame about the lack of parts for p38's... if a had a tdi or td5 defender or disco id have a lot to choose from!!
The MOT isnt a problem, as long as it goes through the smoke test its fine. but i do understand if i went elsewhere people can be picky about the exhaust is incomplete etc.
yeah i thought it was a cat but other people have told me its a dpf... doesnt make much difference in this case though :)
 
I think as others have said it can be done there are improvements to be had. So if you want to then give it a go! :) jut keep your old box for when you get sick of the noise

Well I for one do not see that making it noisier is an advantage. It would mask the turbo spooling up, luv it.:D
 
I 'accidentally' (cough :eek: cough) ran mine, with a twin pipe system, for a while without the back boxes connected.
I didn't notice.
So if you want to mess about with silencers I'd suggest that you look at removing the back boxes.

Correct the diesel doesn't have a particle filter. :);)
