I have been using my 110 300tdi during the cold spell... temps have been as low as -15c. No problem starting and driving at low speeds but when asked to accelerate hard she wouldn't have it..... once I put the pedal past about a 1/4 no increase in power.
I guessed that my diesel was waxing and after reading on here I added just under 10% unleaded..... problem solved. (Not sure if you can do it with newer engines)

I used Shell diesel who claim increased mpg and filled it up about 3 weeks ago.

Maybe the waxing problem effects all brands? Are some better than others?

If you had a waxing problem or frozen fuel what brand did you have in your tank??

If you had no problem in temps of -15c or lower what brand did you have in?

noseybora had filled his tank with Shell and it froze in the tank and all the fuel lines, on thawing out it has cracked his fuel pressure regulator (td5) so he is not best pleased with Shell

I'm using diesel from Texaco garages only and have had no problems at all. Temps here are regularly lower than -15c at night, and not much higher during the day.

which shell garage did you fill up at m8, since the supermarkets jacked the prices up im only using shell now and haven't had any problems in all the ****e weather. i use most of the shell round wigan (like a bit of variety)

used to only ever use shell, but, now due to being lazy use Sainsbury's most.

No problems at at least -13 - assume it got colder than that as -13 was 7am in the morning.
