I just bought and fitted a new cd, radio and after finishing the engine will not start. i think it may be due to the immobiliser but i have no idea how to reset it.
I am now stuck on the drive outside my house, please someone help me.

have you used a harness lead or bodged it?

I connected it via torpedo plugs, but after the standard harness connector. in any case whether i have the radio connected new or old the engine still will not start. All lights light up with the ignition but no start, not even a click??

Not an auto is it? Are you in park?

On my Td5 I have a reset switch . When you open the Bonnet the reset switch is located on the bulkhead to the right of the engine. Just press the button on top, this is slightly recessed. hope this helps
