I have just replaced my diagnostics plug, my code reader doesn't power up, the fuse in the main fuse box is OK. Are foxwell code readers compatible with 2001 discovery td5's? If they are does any one know of any other fuses or relays that may need replacing that would prevent the code reader from working. I'm positive the new plug is wired correct, I'm grateful for any help, thanks.

Foxwells are compatible with all except maybe the most recent Land Rover and Jag vehicles and will work as an OBD2 reader on any vehicle as well. Which is why I got one!;)

Thank you, do you have any suggestions as to why I can't get it to work on my D2, the diagnostics fuse is OK,

I would be checking you have the pins in the right sockets on the plug, dont assume what was there before was correct!
It only takes one pin to be pushed partly out and the diag kit will not connect.

I tried the code reader with a different lead and all is well, Now to sort the codes, onward and ever upward!

That's odd, my one is supposed to be a nt530 but I can't see it written anywhere on it. It sometimes lets you see errors but can't delete them. Sometimes it won't work at all on the D2.
It does always work on the l322.

Just looked at mine & your right no mention of the model on it but there is on the box it came in !

Oh dear!
Just looked at mine and under the screen it reads "Multi-system Scanner NT520 Pro."
I did pay £199.99 for it!
The picture on the box it came in says NT530 under the screen, do you think some in China is making a rip off copy of something that's err Made in China:):):)

I imagine that is completely possible.
But if someone with a 530 pops on he/she could confirm whether or not there are any differences. In what is printed under/on the screen.

My extremely older Foxwell NT-510 works on my friend’s TD5.
You have to use ‘Manual selection’ and not ‘Automatic selection’ to select the Discovery 2 year.

Yes, I forgot that,................... as I never use anything "automatic" if I can avoid it.
