Finally got my Nanocom Extreme. Just got to learn how to use it. is it just plug and play, looked at videos on how it works, but none of them start at the beginning and i dont want to bugger it or my car up. I know where it plugs in,do i need ignition on or off to use it. perhaps there is someone local to me (bury lancs) who could spare me half an hour on the basics. thanks for any help you can give me Mick

It can be a pretty steep learning curve, with some systems (BECM) being accessed with ignition off, others with it on ..

Are you using it with a PC, or is the Extreme the one with the display?

OK, I have the smaller version, and don't know exactly what can be done with your built-in display.

First thing would be to connect it up and see how to connect to the different systems (EAS, HEVAC etc.).

Are you going to use it also with a PC?

I think he means Nanocom Evo, it has a built in colour display and apart from file transfer does not work with a PC.

Aha!

Thought it was the MSV Extreme .... I'll go back to sleep now!

Nanocom dead easy - just connect up and go, after inserting the licence codes.

Just don't "write" any changed settings unintentionally.

Hi yes thats the one, my electronics knowledge is below zero and I dont want to mess anything up.

Initially just use it for reading and clearing fault codes. DON'T change any settings unless you note what the original was so you can revert if needed. Go to the Nanocom home page and use the emulator for your vehicle model, get to know your way around the unit.
