Bit boring I'm afraid. Leaking bag, failed pump. Just stuck my spare pump on and up she came.

Weird HEVAC fault though. Every time he switches on, the HEVAC shows 17 on both sides and 'AUTO'. He's got the cheque book but Nanocom says that that's the front screen. Everything else on the HEVAC works but turn the car off and on and it's back to 17 AUTO. Is there a back-up battery in the HEVAC to hold a memory or a trickle feed with the ignition off?

Does the auto cancel and revert to manual when you turn the fan control? Maybe a problem with the fan control unit.

The auto cancelled if you pressed any of the distribution buttons but I didn't try adjusting the fan.

Mind you I couldn't help thinking, "If that's the biggest problem he's got with a P38 . . . . "

Auto comes on when you press the centre of the fan control. Should go off if you turn it and revert to manual operation. Maybe the fan control is faulty.

No reaction to pressing the centre of the fan control.
But it's the way it always reverts to 17 as well made me wonder if there's a memory battery or should there be a trickle feed, like a radio? I know that I should be checking RAVE but I HATE the way the wiring diagrams are laid out.

RAVE indicates permenant power feed through Fuse 42 to the HEVAC on a 1997 onwards model

EDIT: Same on 1999 onwards too....

Appear to be two live feeds depending on year. Up to 99 fuse 42 10 amp to pin 2. fuse 17 (BECM) 10 amp pin 3. 99 on, fuse 42 10 amp pin 2 and 35 10 amp pin 3. So there would appear to be live feeds for memory retention. In both cases main power is from fuse 8 BECM 30 amp via relay 7 to pin 1.

Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delay replying got caught up doing that work thing.
Just checked the blower control and blower, and all woks as should??.Start the car, set the temp and go for a drive all works as should, switch of ignition and every thing goes back to auto and 17 degrees both sides, happens every time you switch off ignition???.
Over to you guys who know much more than I,
Thanks in anticipation.

With engine running if you set temp say to 20 degrees on manual fan, then press auto does it stay at 20 in auto or revert to the auto 17 each side? You should be able to select auto by pressing fan control and deselect by turning control. Is that function working?

Did you check Fuse 42 as advised?
