Hi
Weird one for you.
Recently purchased a rangerover sport v8 auto. 2008.
From a trader.
Various faults occurred in under 800 miles of use.
Diagnostic check says one of the faults occurred at a milege of much higher than odometer reads.
Is this something that happens alot or is it definitely very alarming?
This is a big deal, as its part of a long list of problems and this would explain alot.
Cheers.

Hi
I have and belive me I going to the matresses.
However I need evidence and I don't know if this is enough?
Mechanic said the diagnostic machine doesn't lie?? But I want to be fully prepared.
Thanks.

Have you approached/challenged the bandits who sold you the car?
Oh yes
He sold it fit for purpose, nothing was wrong with it blar blar...
It needs about 4k spent on it.
Had it 5mns.
Done 800 miles.
I'd go into detail but afraid he might be on here....

I'd let the experts deal with it...Trading Standards won't be messed around and they'll have any other examples of his skullduggery on file that you can't easily get at, if at all....
Best of luck with your Quest!
Off to bed...usually turned into a pumpkin by now...:)

Hi
Yes all is well on that front.
Tbh I don't know why people say that.
If your going to take off what miles you want in between mots it makes no difference. Eg
Mot 70000
Do another 40000 to 110000
Roll back odometer to 85000
All will look normal before next mot....

Odometer ever been replaced or the brain? Not sure on later models but earlier models defaulted to the higher mileage when using second hand parts although it can be changed with dedicated diagnostics.

Yes mine did that tried another cluster to check if i had a dash lighting fault and gained over 20k for the privilege , even though i put original back:(
i am sure the l322 comes up with a little dot next to one of the numbers to show tamperd with.

A trader cannot sell as "fit for purpose" to escape liability. Sounds to me as though it has been clocked, electronic odometers are pretty easy to. clock

181,000 Km is around 112,000 miles. Find out what the diag is reading in before you go ballistic.
