Hi Guys,

i'm new to the site. have a freelander and the engine system warning light has just come on. the garage i usually go to do not have diagnostic equipment and i'm looking for any pointers of where i can go to get this checked?

Almost any garage can do this check - it needs only the most simple OBD reader to find the fault code that has caused the light to come on.

Most will charge a hefty fee for the use of their sophisticated kit.

Why don't you get your own basic code reader and save yourself some dosh and you'll have a reader to use again in the future.

try google - OBD reader.

Guys most readers will not diagnose a Freelander - you have have either the LR Testbook or a Hawkeye.

While some readers read some things they miss out lots as well something to do with LR protecting its code.

Suggest you put a call out for a friendly owner with a Hawkeye
