The delphi lift pump on the 300tdi has a cap that you can take off - like the top of the 'flying saucer' part.

Inside it has a course filter, not present (so far as im aware) on the coppies.

Anyhow, it has an oring that seals on the top.

I dont suppose anyone knows what size it is, do they?

The reason im asking -

I run ours on bio, and it has a habit for eating rubber. I know that, if i take the top off, it will need a new seal. I want to clean out the filter, so i want to take the top off... but i want to have the seal to hand before i do!

I don't know the size but PTFE tape on the threads would work whilst you sourced another o ring maybe?

Unfortunately its not that kind of job - the cap is held on by a screw through the centre, but seals on the rim.

The rim is grooved for a thin o ring - too thin to bodge with PTFE (which is otherwise a good plan!)

The whole lot is under vacuum too, so its not even like you could start it if it were wrong.

long term, id look at a facet pump, ive got one in the shed to go on mine, like you I run on bio and it eats lift pumps every 6 months or so, facet are fully bio compatible...
My plan is to mount it on the bulkhead, and re route pipes to it and blank off the lift pump mount.
