hello to all,
one of our land rover defender TD5 has something quite weird during the starting process; Once the glow plug light is off, if I turn the key to the fullest to start, the engine will not start; Now if I leave the key in the start position for few seconds (may be 5) the engine will start normally.
The glow plugs are brand new (one month old may be)

any idea or comments on this one?
have a great day

I had a similar problem on my Disco during the floods. Cleaned the solenoid spade connector & tightened it a little, been fine since.

+1 for dirty or corroded starter fly lead. 9 times outta 10 you can get away with just giving the connector a wiggle.

Did you mean the engine turns over but wont start. Or it just doesn't turn over?
