Hello
My TD5 Disco 2 on an 02 plate is leaving small deisel leaks on the drive, when it went in for an mot the other day I was told that the lift pump was leaking. in trying to get an idea whether I can fix this myself I have read a thread on this site saying that the TD5 doesn't have a lift pump, im confused? Can anyone help please?

Hi its at the front, dripping off the cross member just behind the front wheels, the starting motor is starting to struggle as well, I think its dripping down onto the starter, but as leaks go its getting heavier with several droplets dripping off the cross member. Im going to have a good root round under the bonnet this morning and see if I can trace it.
Cheers

Further to my last the starter motor is wet and there is fluid (probably deisel) running down the gearbox housing and dripping onto the drive shaft, I think it maybe piping that sits between the back of the engine and the bulkhead just above the starter motor, really difficult to access.

It will be your fuel pressure regulator, it bolts to the cylinder head at the back near the bulkhead..
You can either replace the entire thing for about £70-80 or buy a repair kit and try that first..:)

+1 that will be where its coming from

Thanks very much Chris your spot on, looking at the working area im going to struggle to get in there, its booked into a garage. Apparantly its a common problem on TD5s.
Thanks for your help
